Seeding a pomegranate is so time consuming! The payoff is great once you fill up your tasty pomegranate jelly jars. Add our Cute Pomegranate Jelly canning labels to your mason jars for the finishing touch. Adhesive peel & stick pomegranate jelly labels work on canning lids or glass mason jars. Just handwrite the date on the pomegranate jelly canning labels when you're done preserving.
A common pomegranate question: how do I juice this thing? It’s easy! Chop the crown off the top and score the rind down the sides. Immerse in a cool bowl of water, gently twisting & breaking apart the seeds from the white inner membrane. BTW, the seeds are called arils. The arils will sink and the membrane and rind pieces will float, so they can be easily skimmed off. Then take your newly liberated arils, place in a zip-lock bag and gently flatten with a rolling pin. Snip a tiny hole in one of the corners of the bag and pour out your fresh, life-giving pomegranate juice… straight down your gullet, if you like!
Another way to juice a pomegranate would be to use a citrus juicer. Cut the pomegranate in half and juice it like an orange. Then just run the juice through a fine mesh strainer to remove the seeds and pith.
