Christmas Cookie Mason Jar Gift decorations with recipe cards & hang tags

The end of the year is approaching at a break-neck speed and you need to get your gift game wrapped up (pun totally intended). I used to start buying Christmas gifts in the summer and have everything completed by Halloween. Yeeeah.... not so much these days. Time tends to get away from you. If you're planning on making gifts (I've always thought the best gifts are the homemade ones), those can be a real time vacuum. Which brings me to: Christmas Cookie Mason Jar Gifts.

I started selling these in my shop a couple years ago due to many requests. It's costly to buy pre-made cookie jars since the shipping is so high. Not to mention that you have no control over the ingredients in the pre-made jars. And while it's more fun to make your own mason cookie jars, many people aren't able to create the custom labels and hang tags. So these DIY cookie jar kits are a handy-dandy solution. They include all the bells and whistles to decorate mason jar cookie gifts. You supply your own jars and ingredients.

There are 4 cookie recipes to choose from: Candy Chip, Chocolate Chip, Peanut Butter, and Oatmeal.

Each DIY Mason Cookie Jar Kit includes a cookie recipe and materials to make 12 of your own quart mason jar gifts. You supply your own jars and ingredients. You get:

  • 1 - Cookie recipe card with instructions on how to layer ingredients in jar
  • 12 - 6" Christmas cloth jar covers
  • 12 - 2.5" round cookie labels for front of jars
  • 12- gift hang tags with baking directions
  • 12 - pre-cut ribbons
  • 1 - shopping list for all the ingredients you need to purchase.
The mason jar cookie recipe cards are easy to follow. Recipe cards list the ingredients and show you how to layer them in the jars. A handy tip: Use a magnetic canning wand with a metal spice jar lid attached to it for packing ingredients into the jar. This will give you a nice and neat looking cookie jar.

You say "I love this idea, but I like to add kelp & sardines to my Christmas cookies!" I say... gross. But also: No problem! I can do custom cookie jar decorations with your baking directions and recipe name on the tags and labels. Custom cookie mason jar gift sets also include cloth toppers and ribbons. So now you can gift-give your own cookie mix in style! After all, we all know that YOUR chocolate chip cookie recipe is better than everyone else's!

Sometimes a quart jar sized gift is just too darn big. If need something a little more compact, we also offer a Double Chocolate Brownie recipe for pint jars. These brownie mason jar kits are perfect for shower gifts or Christmas presents.

3 BONUS heart stickers say "Brownies make your "heart beat". Ooh la la!

These DIY cookie kits are a great idea for children. It often seems like kids don't know what to get for those "hard to buy for" adults in their lives. These homemade cookie jars make a wonderful gift for any teacher, pastor, or babysitter. And grandma or grandpa's hearts will collectively melt when they get one of these thoughtful gifts! Your kids will love to make these mason cookie jar gifts!

All of the cookie kit recipes are fantastic. The peanut butter recipe is probably my favorite because it calls for triple peanuts: peanuts, peanut butter, and peanut butter chips. I should really call it the George Washington Carver Special. ;-) The brownie recipe is very rich and dense, but not overly "teeth achingly" sweet. The kind of brownies you have to monitor yourself on, so that you don't eat half the pan in one sitting. :-D
